The DAA has also been working on more than 100 other projects to Transform Dublin Airport.

Area 14, the new €15m lower ground floor check-in facility has opened. It has 25 check-in desks and can handle four million departing passengers per year. Its commissioning  will free additional space on the busy Departures Floor while T2 is being built.

A new €3m dedicated coach and bus park has been built at the rear of the multi-storey car par, delivering upgraded transit and parking facilities for the bulk of the 700 buses per day that use Dublin Airport.

In tandem with this project, the short-term car park control system has been revamped and upgraded and a new improved parking zone has been created for disabled passengers.

Space has also been created on the departures floor by moving the Bank of Ireland branch downstairs and the Travel Value retail outlets have been modernised in Pier B and on The Street – the main shopping area at the airport.
