The bones of Dublin Airport's new Terminal One Extension (T1X) are beginning to take shape.
Significant progress has been made on the installation of pre-cast concrete and structural steel works, which will form the backbone of the €55 million extension. Pre-cast concrete lift shafts and a pre-cast stair core have been put in place in recent days.
Using pre-cast concrete panels at the site saves a significant amount of time and ensures that the work is completed more efficiently. The concrete panels are lifted into place and then bolted together. The stair core and lift shafts took just five days to install.
It is expected that the €55 million T1X project will be fully complete by next summer. The extension will radically improve the passenger journey to Pier A and Pier D at Dublin Airport.
