Structural steelwork for Pier E – T2’s new boarding gate facility - started today.
Wexford company Paddy Walls & Sons, which is a subcontractor to main Pier E contractor Hegarty, started work at the southern end of the Pier E site.
Over the next few months, Paddy Walls & Sons will erect about 2,800 tonnes of steel at Pier E, working from the far end of the site back towards the new terminal, which is now under construction. Pier E, which will have parking for up to 19 short-haul aircraft, will be 60% larger than Pier D at Dublin Airport.
Paddy Walls & Sons, which is based in New Ross Co Wexford, was established in 1987 and has worked on projects for clients such as Irish Rail, Tesco and C&C.
