Tower Crane Up At T2 Site

Tower Crane At T2 Site, Dublin Airport

The first of five tower cranes has been erected at the T2 site.

Tower Crane Four (TC4), shown in the background of the picture above, was erected last Friday close to the new T2 energy centre. Four more large cranes will be erected at the T2 site over the coming weeks and months.

Three cranes will be located on the southern side of the T2 site to service construction of the energy centre and main passenger processor elements of the new terminal. The other two cranes will be located on the northern side of the site to build the T2 check-in hall. The five cranes, each of which will be able to lift loads weighing up to six tonnes, will be shared between all of the various T2 contractors and subcontractors.

Construction of T2 is due to be completed in late 2009 and the new terminal will open to the public in April 2010.
