Work Begins To Improve Apron Taxiway 6 At Dublin Airport

Work will begin next week to lay a new layer of asphalt concrete at Dublin Airport’s Apron Taxiway 6.

The taxiway, which runs from the north of Pier D west to the crosswind runway, dates from the late 1940s and requires a complete overlay.

The six-week project, which is being carried out by Clare Civil, under the supervision of the DAA's airfield team, will see a 150mm layer of new asphalt blacktop laid on the taxiway.

Enabling work for the project started this week and construction work proper on the overlay will begin next week. The overlay is part of a major programme of airfield works within the €2 billion Transforming Dublin Airport investment programme.
