Transforming Dublin Airport

New Parking Stands At 6C

Apron 6C, Dublin Airport

The first of three major new apron developments at Dublin Airport is now in service.

Apron 6C, which was constructed as a part of the €2 billion Transforming Dublin Airport Programme, became operational earlier this month. Its eight new aircraft parking stands are being used by narrow bodied short-haul aircraft, and business jets.

In total, about 50,000 cubic metres of concrete – which is equivalent to 50 million litres of concrete - was used to build Apron 6C. The job was carried out by contractor Clare Civil, under the management of the DAA's airfield construction team.

Apron phase 6A is still under construction and is due to be handed over in June. Work is also continuing on Apron 6B which will be handed over in September.
