Transforming Dublin Airport

Terminal One Extension

Old Terminal At Dublin Seen Throught T1 Extension Site

The extension to Terminal One will improve the travel experience for passengers using the A and D boarding gates at Dublin Airport.

We are investing €55 million in a major extension to the existing terminal that will be fully complete by the summer of 2009. The T1 Extension will provide more circulation space for passengers, an enlarged and reconfigured check-in area at the northern end of the terminal, and additional retail and catering space.

The extension will create an enlarged security screening area. Once through security, there will be a greatly enhanced choice of shops, cafes and restaurants and a much larger circulation area for passengers en route to Pier A and Pier D.

Passengers will enter this new area from the Pier A end of the existing ‘Street’ area at Dublin Airport. A glazed wall at the rear of the new T1 extension means that the new two-storey space will be filled with natural light.

The T1 Extension will be opened on a phased basis, with the first elements of the new facility available for use in early 2009.
