APPRENTICESHIPS - DUBLIN AIRPORT AUTHORITY
Dublin Airport Authority is committed to apprenticeship training and each year offers a number of training placements to enthusiastic people interested in a career as a tradesperson. At Dublin Airport, we are offering a number of apprenticeships in the Electrical and Mechanical Fitter trades. To qualify for the apprenticeships, applicants must be at least sixteen years of age on 1st August 2008 and hold, at the time of application, the following minimum educational qualifications:
JUNIOR CERTIFICATE
Passes in five subjects to include Ordinary Level English and Maths
Pass in one of the following subjects:
Science / Technical Graphics /Materials Technology (Metal/ Wood) /Technology
Applicants with certificates which have been awarded outside of Ireland should apply to the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland, 5th Floor Jervis House, Jervis Street, Dublin 1 (Tel: 353 1 8871500) or www.qualificationsrecognition.ie to have their qualifications recognised. As this process can take up to six weeks applications to the Authority should be made as soon as possible.
We are looking for candidates who will show:
" A willingness to listen, learn and ask questions
" A genuine interest in the work
" An interest in working around and with others
" An acceptable academic level and technical aptitude
It is desirable that candidates hold a grade C or higher, at Junior Certificate Ordinary level, in English, Mathematics and one of the other subjects listed above. Applicants may be screened on the basis of exam results and application. Applicants must be available to attend assessments on 3rd May 2008 and interviews on week beginning 30th June 2008.

" Photocopy of two pieces of ID (birth certificate / passport / drivers licence)
" Name of Apprenticeship for which you wish to apply
