Dublin Airport has today, Tuesday 9th August, submitted Additional Information to Fingal County Council in respect of its planning application for a new runway at Dublin Airport.
In response to a request received from Fingal County Council on 10th February this year the Dublin Airport Authority submitted additional information to the planning authority addressing issues such as water quality, transportation access, natural habitat of wildlife, storm-water management and passenger traffic forecasting.
The initial planning application for a proposed new runway at Dublin Airport was lodged with Fingal County Council on 10th of December 2004. The application submitted covered many areas potentially impacted by the development of a new runway. In addition to securing permission for the site itself the Environmental Impact Statement submitted to Fingal County Council describes the existing environment and the possible impacts of the development under a number of environmental topics, for example, the local community, plants, animals, soils, water, air, climate, the landscape and material assets including architectural, archaeological heritage and cultural heritage.
It is understood that Fingal County Council will make a decision on the final planning application within eight weeks of the submission of this supplementary information.
