DAA and Taxi Fares at Dublin Airport

Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) currently levies a charge of 70c per fare on all taxis using Dublin Airport. This charge is used to part-cover the costs incurred by the DAA in managing the taxi service at Dublin Airport and in the maintenance and upgrading of the taxi facilities there.

The DAA has informed the various taxi unions that it is prepared to be flexible on the issue of the taxi charge, in the light of the changes to fare structures proposed by the taxi regulator. The DAA has also made it clear that it must continue to part-cover its taxi management costs at Dublin Airport and that it cannot enter meaningful discussions with the taxi unions in the face of threatened or actual industrial action.
